Children in the first grade and above are invited to participate in the First Communion class, which is held annually and prepares these young people to take the sacrament. The class is generally held twice annually, the first class in August and a second class in September, and is followed by a special First Communion Service. The service is completely focused on the First Communion students and their families, and is only offered once per year. First Communion classes at Ascension are offered to all children in first grade, or age 6 years and up through Confirmation. Each student is asked to bring one or both parents along with them to the class. If you have questions, contact the church office or Myra Chandler, our Milestone Ministry coordinator.
