LSS Community Care Centers (LSS-CCC), formerly known as Lutheran Social Services of Southern California (LSS/SC), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit social services agency that has served in partnership with its congregations and supporters for more than 65 years.

Fostering humanitarian efforts and goodwill in the community, LSS Community Care Centers has grown into a flourishing organization, led by faithful, passionate and committed individuals since its inception.
The agency continues to show a passion for Christ and his Church by the delivery of social services that affect outreach and social justice. This passion continues throughout the LSS-CCC ministry by doing work that:

Promotes mental, physical and spiritual healing
Encourages human growth and development
Provides continuums of care for those in need
Today, this ministry encompasses counties throughout Southern California including Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Long Beach and San Diego.

The Board and staff of LSS-CCC are committed to making the 21st Century an even more significant period in the history of the Lutheran Church’s social service heritage. LSS-CCC will continue to change lives and give hope and comfort to those who are lost in the darkness.
Emergency food bags are provided to all Conejo Valley residents in need. Special dietary concerns are met if possible.
Thanksgiving baskets are provided for families and individuals in need in the Conejo Valley area. The “Adopt a Family Christmas Program” provides gifts for children of low income families. To be placed on the list for either program, please contact the LSS office by September 1st. You must be an existing client of LSS to qualify for this program.
The following services are provided to our homeless community on Monday through Friday (excluding Thursday) from 9:00am to 12:30pm: showers, laundry, mail collection, message center, bus tokens, food, clothing, case management, counseling and resource referrals.
Conejo Valley Meal and Shelter Program
A meal is offered every night at a different local Conejo Valley house of faith from 5:45 – 7:30. All are welcome to attend. December 1st through March 31st an overnight shelter at the same location is provided. Guests must check in between 5:45 and 8:00 and leave by 7:00 am the following morning. Guests are treated with dignity and respect by dedicated church and synagogue volunteer teams.
Emergency rental assistance for eviction prevention serves low income families and individuals in the Conejo Valley. Eligibility is based upon set criteria and will be determined through a phone intake or appointment. If eligible, special documentation will be required to support your need and living status.
Everyone in need deserves to be directed to an appropriate resource to meet those needs. If LSS is unable to provide assistance, the staff will do their best to offer support through LSS’ strong referral network. LSS serves the following needs in this manner: housing, emergency shelters, food, employment, mental health, education, vocation, legal services, medical services, human services, and welfare care.
Gas vouchers are available to low income clients for medical, employment or education appointments.
Providing assistance to all Ventura County residents with gas and electric bills. SCE assistance is provided once in a 12 month period and The Gas Co assistance is provided once in a calendar year.
